Rate of Fire Detector
Response. Detection. Control.
Sydor Technologies innovative Rate of Fire Detector includes a rugged IR sensor designed to monitor muzzle exit gases and ballistic signatures for high-speed range instrumentation. Developed for sharp sensitivity and fast repetition, it delivers accurate timing data within demanding testing environments.
Key Benefits
- Optimal Spectral Sensitivity
Covers 0.8 to 1.8 µm wavelengths, with peak sensitivity at 1.55 µm. - Adjustable Detection Threshold
User-configurable sensitivity settings enable precise targeting of specific gas or thermal-event profiles. - Rapid Repetition Capture
Flash detection recovery time under ~8 µs, capturing ability up to 600 rounds per minute. Ideal for ballistic sequences, burst firing, or flash-dense environments. - Robust, Test-Hardened Design
Compact and durable housing suited for mounting near barrels, combustion chambers, or in modular IR arrays.

Configuration and Integration
The unit is partially encapsulated to resist the ingress of water to the electronics and detector. A universal clamp and small stand are provided to facilitate installation.
