Michael Pavia is responsible for understanding the needs of key markets, and providing strategic direction for the growth of Sydor Technologies. Over the years, he has grown the company into a leader in high-performance imaging, diagnostics, and measurement systems for government agencies around the world.
Michael encourages his staff to work smarter (not harder). He surrounds himself with smart, talented people—and provides them with a creative environment to solve mission-critical problems and empowers them to drive success. Consequently, the company has been featured as one of fastest growing companies in the Rochester (NY) Top-100, and in the top 25% of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fastest-growing companies nationwide.
In his role of developing the growth of Sydor Technologies, Michael is also responsible for guiding the disciplined, targeted acquisition strategy that aims to minimize risk, yet foster innovation to reach new customers around the globe— and better serve existing ones.
Michael is a global business and technology executive with over 30 years experience in photonics and imaging. Prior to founding Sydor Technologies, Michael held key positions in laser fusion systems, semiconductor capital equipment, and satellite remote sensing systems. In a senior role at Eastman Kodak Company, he was responsible for launching products on a global basis as the worldwide marketing manager of a $1.5B strategic product group. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
Vice President of US Operations
Mark Katafiaz leads various teams with exceptional expertise gained from over twenty-five years of managing research, development and engineering operations for technology companies.
In addition to overall management, Mark directs the Production, Engineering, Proposal and Contract Management, Quality Control Systems, and Export Compliance departments. Prior to joining Sydor Technologies, Mark managed operations for Dimension Technologies Inc. and General Electric Consulting Services.
Mark’s expertise includes providing outstanding coordination of services and support to ensure complete system integrity and performance at our clients’ locations. He also ensures that our engineering services and custom imaging systems are designed to precise specifications—and delivered on time.
Vice President of UK Operations
Justine is an international business leader who has held CEO and Managing Director roles in stock exchange listed companies in the maritime and defence sector in the United Kingdom.
She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, as well as selling businesses. Her leaderships skills, business development activities, distributor and agent management are proven in the companies she has worked for. Justine has demonstrated the ability to manage and grow businesses strategically on the global stage.
With a broad knowledge of organisational planning, cultural change, company values, research and development and manufacturing, she has made a real difference to revenue and profit goals. She enjoys working closely with the staff she values as an important company resource. Justine has developed Corporate Social Responsibility projects within the companies she has worked for which is important to investors, employees and customers alike.
Justine is a Post Graduate member of the Institute of Export and a full member of The Institute of Directors. She holds a degree in Business Studies with Languages, speaking both fluent Spanish and French.
Justine lives near Chichester in West Sussex. She is a keen skier, sailor, horse rider, and runner.
